The Ram Kal Path is a major ₹106 crore heritage corridor project in Nashik designed to transform the Panchavati pilgrimage zone ahead of the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela. Funded primarily by the Central Government, this 1.36 km spiritual walkway connects sacred landmarks like Sita Gufa and Ram Kund with restored ancient aesthetics. It serves as a critical urban renewal initiative to improve infrastructure and manage the flow of millions of devotees.     Key Project Details Budget & Funding: The total project cost is approximately ₹106 Crore, funded largely by the Centre’s "Special Assistance to States" scheme and executed by the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). The Route: It covers a strategic 1.36 km stretch connecting Sita Gufa, the historic Kalaram Temple, and the Ram Kund bathing ghats on the Godavari river. Scope of Work: The project entails widening roads (up to 15 meters), restoring heritage building facades for uniformity, developing river ghats, and installing stone sculptures and heritage lighting. Timeline: Work orders were issued in June 2025, and the foundation stone was officially laid by CM Devendra Fadnavis on November 13, 2025, with a target to finish before 2027. Social Impact: An additional ₹15 Crore has been allocated to rehabilitate around 60 families and shopkeepers displaced by the necessary road widening.

Pune–Nashik Semi High-Speed Railway Corridor (235 km)
The Pune–Nashik Semi-High-Speed Railway is a proposed intercity rail corridor aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and reducing travel time between the two major cities. The 235 km line was announced in 2020 with an estimated cost of around ₹16,000 crore. The project aims to support freight movement from MIDC regions, reduce highway congestion, and build an industrial growth corridor between Pune, Ahmednagar, and Nashik. Multiple clearances, including land acquisition approvals, were initiated between 2020 and 2022. However, the project has remained stalled since 2023 due to funding gaps, delays in central approvals, and a lack of progress on detailed land acquisition planning. The project remains listed under the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MahaRail), with no recent activity or updated timelines.

Nashik Road–Dwarka Flyover / Elevated Corridor (8 km, Bharatmala Proposal)
The Nashik Road–Dwarka elevated corridor is a proposed 8 km infrastructure project intended to ease congestion along one of Nashik’s busiest traffic stretches. As per public statements by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in 2021 and 2022, the corridor is included within the Bharatmala Pariyojana framework. The early concept also referenced a possible double-decker structure, with vehicular movement on one level and a potential Metro Neo alignment on the upper level. The project is currently awaiting detailed planning, DPR preparation, and execution-related approvals from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH).
